지난 8일 이화여대 신촌 캠퍼스 인근 카페에서 만난 프리스카(본명 누비아 프리스카 넨나·29)는 활달한 목소리로 자신의 이야기를 꺼냈다.

이화여대에서 학·석사를 마치고 박사(국제사무학) 논문을 준비 중인 프리스카는 학업에만 매달리지 않으면서 다양한 활동을 병행해온 자신을 평가해 스스로 '슈퍼우먼'이라고 부른다.

Speaking at a cafe near Ewha Womans University in Seoul on April 8, Nnubia Prisca Nnenna, known as Prisca, shared her story in a lively tone, beaming when she said, "I live in Korea with my parents."

A digital creator, influencer, aspiring singer and festival ambassador, Prisca describes herself as a "superwoman," reflecting her efforts to pursue various activities alongside her academic work.

After graduating from high school in Nigeria, she first visited Korea in 2014 at the recommendation of her father, who was engaged in trade. At the time, her father encouraged her to experience Korea's education system firsthand.

Although it was a short stay, she found life in Korea appealing and decided to study here. She later enrolled at Ewha Womans University and has continued her academic journey in Korea for more than a decade.

"My father, who has long-standing ties with Korea, recommended that I study here, saying the education system is strong," she said. "I followed his advice, and now I feel that decision has greatly shaped my life."

About six months after she arrived in Korea, her twin elder brother joined her. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in computer engineering at Dongguk University and married a Korean woman last year.

Her father, who runs a business between Korea and Nigeria, served as president of the Nigerian Residents Association in Korea from 2017 to 2020.

She also shared a message for other Africans living in Korea, encouraging them not to limit themselves because of their background and to walk their own path with confidence.

"I believe anyone can create change if they trust their potential."
